Lemaire SPRING 2019 READY-TO-WEAR —— Dress Well Easily
In 2017, the former Hermes ECD Christophe Lemaire took advantage of the trend of Normcore to bring Lemaire, the same name brand, into the public’s sight.
Behind your beloved Lemaire is actually a woman named Sarah. Sarah Lin-Tran and Christophe Lemaire met around 2006 when Sarah was still a student. Lemaire was already the director of design at Lacoste. He began to take a firm foothold in the fashion world. For Sarah, a soul figure who hides behind, fashion circles don’t know much about her. On the one hand, Christophe’s namesake brand development is not mature enough, so that the media attention is not much. Even though Christophe later reached the summit of fame as Herms Design Director, the focus remains on the designer’s individual and brand.
Sarah said that they had always hoped that brand designing was building trusts with the wearers. That’s why she has been encouraging Christophe to restart the brand, which she believes is lacked in the current fashion market. With Christophe stepping down as Herms designer in 2014, they focused on the design of the same brand. Sarah said that at the moments of fashion creation, they would always imagine what a “better self” would look like.
